There have been a couple different Boy Scout troops in Whitestown over the years.
The original troop was number 354 and was active in the mid 1900s but the club became dormant for many years until it was revived in the early 1980s. The #354 had since been reassigned to the troop in Lebanon, so the reviatalizedWhitestown troop was assigned troop number 382 which itself only lasted a few years.

Mike Hancock was the only member of troop 382 to be inducted into the Order or the Arrow, the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America
