From the Lions Club website:
In 1944, the Zionsville Lions Club approached the Whitestown business and civic leaders regarding the formation of a local Lions Club for the Whitestown community. The proposal was met with an overwhelming response and the Whitestown Lions Club was chartered in District 25C of the International Association of Lions Clubs.
In the early years of the clubs' existence, members helped endorse the incorporation of the town of Whitestown. Now, nearly seventy years later, we are proud to be part of a growing and thriving community.
Membership throughout the years has ebbed and flowed, but the basic Lions Club ideals and dedication to the community has remained strong. Then, as today, our main goal is to make our community a better place for the citizens of tomorrow.
Our park
We are very proud of Whitestown Lions Club Park, located at 107 North Main Street.
In 1955, Lloyd and Katherine Smith donated nearly 12 acres of land to the Whitestown Lions Club to be developed into a community park. The Whitestown Lions immediately went to work on what has been our largest continuing project to date. Throughout the years, many dollars and many hours of labor have been invested into the park grounds. Today, it boasts three baseball/softball fields, a full basketball court, sand volleyball court, clubhouse, restroom facilities, and a picnic shelter that can be reserved for personal or community gatherings.
Play Ball
The Perry-Worth youth baseball/softball league called Whitestown Lions Park home from the early 1970's until their bi-county league folded in 2008. For the past several years, the park has been home to the Zionsville Baseball Club (ZBC), a community-based travel program for the children who live in the Whitestown and Zionsville communities. Each year, the park also hosts a variety of softball tournaments, including the annual Boone County Special Olympics softball tournament each fall.
Prior to the Lions Club assuming ownership of the park, it was known as Stark park and hosted the annual Red-man picnic

Once upon a time there were tractor pulls held in the park. These are probably late 80s
