Large poster for a play done during Pioneer days. Based on a date of Saturday September 16th, this was most likely 1978. The play was written by Jim Gamble and was about Clen Engledale, a Whitestown resident that was offered a professional baseball position and turned it down. Clen is said to have been quite the character

Willey Park Mary and Carroll Willey owned and operated the Rainbow Valley Christian Childrens Home in Whitestown for many years and welcomed 349 foster children into their home during that time. They were recognized and memorialized by Duke developers in 2006 with a family park named in their honor to celebrate their many years of service in the community and to children in need. Located on Schooler drive in the Duke development area known as the Blvd at Anson. A small and simple park of maybe 3 wooded acres with a little walking trail, it's like a mini oasis for nature lovers amid a highly developed area. Small wildlife probably appreciates it also. Attached are some recent photos as well as a very early Rainbow Valley newsletter recently submitted to the Boone County historical society from the Tipton historical society. The Rainbow Valley Childrens Christian home is no longer around and Mr & Mrs Willey have passed, but the legacy of the Willeys property carries on, and today their former home is now operated as the "So Big Mountain house" https://www.sobig.org/
