Aerial view of the town from the west looking east. Notice that this was taken before the water tower was built and double railroad tracks ran thru town (notice the train in the lower left corner). This photo has writing on the back that indicates it's from 1945 and was taken by George Tilford, possibly for the Indy Star newspaper. This original photo was provided to me by Bret Harrod

Drug store of Clyde Laughner. The 1951 Centennial booklet states that this drugstore was the oldest business in town at the present time and has been operated by Clyde Laughner the last 50 years. This means the Laughner drug store opened in 1901 and was still in business in 1951.

This bulding has served different purposes including the drugstore of Clyde Laughner and later the drugstore of Charles Hine. It currently houses the Township Trustee office, a bicycle store, and a property management company.

The Ambrose Neese home built in 1848-1850 in the Italianate style. Later used as a townhall and then the police station. It was the only property in Whitestown that was listed in the national historic register of historic places. It was razed by order of the town council in 2013 to become a parking lot across from the Legion

Picture
Another view of the house at 104 E Pierce. The house is believed to have been built about 1900. This photo appears to be older than the one from 1907 (which appears to have a small barn behind the house to the left). It is believed the identify of the people in this photo are the original builders, Walter Sinclair (the popcorn king) and his wife. Photo submitted by current home owner Bruce Yeadon. Thank you
